7 - Taking The
Step The following night I declined the invitation to ride with some of my other
friends and I took my own car. I
didn't even sit with anyone I knew.
I had a wonderful time! When
Atmananda said that he would be accepting students the following evening,
I decided to apply as a student to this wonderful being. After the meeting I caught up with Shawn, or rather I should say she caught
up with me. "I'm so sorry about last night," she said. "My friend was horrible." "So how is he?" I asked. "I dumped him," she grinned. "I
couldn't be around such an asshole." I grinned and laughed. "I hope you don't mind, but I decided to apply as a student. I still plan on being active in our church. It's
just something I feel I should do," Shawn said. I looked into her eyes and grinned. "You
have taken the words right out of my mouth," I said. On the fourth night I waited with great anticipation as the evening drew
to a close. After everyone left,
those of us who had applied moved to the front of the room. Atmananda looked at us one by one; some he accepted and others he
said needed to clear up something in their life. When he got to me, I felt my soul being examined. He smiled and accepted me! I felt such joy! I had finally come home. Shawn and I, along with two others from the L.I.F.E. Center, became students
