About Rama

Chapter 7 - Taking The Step

The following night I declined the invitation to ride with some of my other friends and I took my own car.  I didn't even sit with anyone I knew.  I had a wonderful time!  When Atmananda said that he would be accepting students the following evening, I decided to apply as a student to this wonderful being.

After the meeting I caught up with Shawn, or rather I should say she caught up with me.

"I'm so sorry about last night," she said.  "My friend was horrible."

"So how is he?" I asked.

"I dumped him," she grinned.  "I couldn't be around such an asshole."

I grinned and laughed.

"I hope you don't mind, but I decided to apply as a student.  I still plan on being active in our  church.  It's just something I feel I should do," Shawn said.

I looked into her eyes and grinned.  "You have taken the words right out of my mouth," I said.

On the fourth night I waited with great anticipation as the evening drew to a close.  After everyone left, those of us who had applied moved to the front of the room.  Atmananda looked at us one by one; some he accepted and others he said needed to clear up something in their life.   When he got to me, I felt my soul being examined.  He smiled and accepted me!  I felt such joy!  I had finally come home.

Shawn and I, along with two others from the L.I.F.E. Center, became students that night.

The strange pull to the West Coast also ended that night.
