As the van hummed the tune of the highway I thought
about Brad. We have been married several years-- he was an
incredible man, kind and gentle, devoted to me and our
children. He felt a deep responsibility to provide a safe
and rich environment for his family. His integrity and
excellent business sense propelled him to success. I loved
him deeply, and felt very guilty about going off on this
journey without him. The only real friction I could
remember in our marriage was related to this teacher named
Rama.

Two and a half hours later I sat in the Beverly
Wilshire Theater waiting for the evening lecture to begin.
My pounding heart reflected the increasing suspense I was
feeling about the beginning of this apprenticeship. Would
