Principal Dave to the rescue once again!

I thanked Dave for his understanding and headed back
to my classroom. As I walked through the empty halls I
felt a weariness move into my steps. I was heartsick as I
thought about Josh in jail, an orphan of circumstance.

The noon bell rang after that eternal morning, and I
locked my classroom door, providing myself with a fortress
from the world. I put on a headset, sat in a crossed-leg
position and meditated to Tangerine Dream. The electronic
music helped me slip into a space where I could let go of
the pain and thoughts of the world. My teacher had
introduced me to these levels of awareness, and I was
learning how to shift into those quiet places on my own.
