softly some nights, but tonight the waves crashed with the
power of Neptune, and gave the night an ominous cloak.

My body shook, resonating with the thunder of the
waves, as my mind walked its way through the previous ten
days of my life.

Eleven days ago life had been normal … normal by
standards of the 1980s. June Cleaver would definitely not
think life in the Miller home was normal. June, the
perpetual homemaker in the Leave It to Beaver series would
frown upon the life of a 1980’s wife and mother.

If June Cleavor could look out through the TV screen
into my home she would see a mom and dad, and two children.
